Announcing... The Wee Con 2026!

Yes, after a lot of positive reviews of The Wee Con 2025...we're doing it again!

The Wee Con 2026 is planned for 6th-8th November 2026 in the heart of Glasgow, Scotland. We couldn't be more excited about our new location and venue, and spreading our brand of pirate joy to Glasgow! Help us bring it to life by buying tickets through our TicketTailor store below (all refundable through September 15, 2026).

Read on for more details about what we're planning for Wee Con 2026:

Our Venue: The Social Hub Glasgow

Our venue for the Wee Con 2026 is as different as it is possible to be from the Pleasance: The Social Hub in the Merchant City in Glasgow.

Built in 2022, the Social Hub is an all-in-one facility that combines event spaces (meeting rooms and gathering areas), hotel rooms, restaurants and cafes, and quiet space. Better yet, the venue is physically accessible, with easy (no key required) lift access to all event spaces and floors.

We’ve booked out the following rooms:

  • The theatre on the ground floor (for panels, larger crafting sessions, cosplay showcase, drag and more)

  • An event space/informal area on the first floor

  • The Snug, a comfy chill-out space on the ground floor

  • Several meeting rooms on the first floor (for the market hall, workshops and more)

  • The ground floor lobby is also open for us to use, with couches, armchairs, table-tennis and pool tables and a café and restaurant right beside the reception.

Our ticket

Since we’re booking out almost all of their meeting spaces, any attendees who choose to stay at the venue will get a 15% discount on their accommodation cost. (A code will be provided once everything is up and running.)

For those who would be driving, there is also a carpark nearby and people staying at the Social Hub should get 50% reduction on parking.

The building itself is super central, with one of the major shopping streets of the city barely 5 minutes away on foot, and has made itself easy to spot thanks to the Keeper of Light, its giant mural of a nonbinary icon covered in symbols of the city of Glasgow.

Aside from the mural, the venue is proudly queer-friendly, and were very eager to make sure our community will feel safe. Glasgow’s PRIDE parade used it as a starting point for one of their recent marches for people to get ready. The toilets are all gender neutral with private fully enclosed cubicles and the décor includes our flags. It’s also within a stone’s throw of multiple gay and queer bars and clubs, with a big old rainbow painted on one of the roads leading towards it. Keep your eyes open for the random unicorns in the vicinity.

A Note on 2026 Ticket Prices

Because the price of our new venue is higher than the combined prices of the Pleasance and Roxy from Wee Con 2025, unfortunately we've had to raise these prices a little for 2026 compared to 2025. We know from the post-event survey that people considered Wee Con 2025 ticket prices pretty fair, so we're sorry to have to do this.

However, many of you also pointed out on the survey that Edinburgh is a very expensive city to visit...which is not the case for Glasgow. And Wee Con 2026 attendees will be eligible for hotel discounts at the Social Hub, which is already less expensive than most Edinburgh hotel options. So all in all, we think that this is a good deal for a weekend of all-in-one-place piratical fun.

One more note: Lots of you really liked the Pay-it-Forward options from last year, so we're bringing those back - and, as requested, adding the option to buy or pledge an extra ticket for PIF or to share with somebody else!

Our (Rough) Schedule

Our rough schedule for the Wee Con 2026 currently looks like this:

  • Friday, 6th November: Site opens before 2 PM, activities in theater until 10 PM at the latest

  • Saturday, 7th November: Activities from 9-10 AM to 10 PM

  • Sunday, 8th November: Activities from 9-10 AM on, party in the evening until midnight

Like 2025, we're aiming for a mix of panels, workshops, and other activities both inside and outside the venue (such as karaoke or even a piratical afternoon tea!) And we'll have plenty of down time and spaces for gathering and mingling and crafting.

Thanks so much for your feedback on what you enjoyed and your ideas for making Wee Con even better. (For example, yes: we will make sure to have meal breaks on all days!)

Submissions for panels, workshops, crafting and more will all be after the Kickstarter, so there's plenty of time to don your planning caps! And if you're intimidated by the idea of a full-length panel, we're aiming to have slots for panels of all different lengths (from 5-10 minutes up to an hour or more) so don't feel pressured to fill an hour.
